Hello, Cupcake!

Hello, Cupcake!

I love this book. It is incredibly creative and very cute. The whole thing is different ways to decorate cupcakes- some easier than others...but all equally adorable.

I was feeling creative after Tim and I had a little date on Saturday, and we had some time before our Valentines party, thrown by our niece Ally (which turned out really awesome Amy and Ally, so thanks again!).
Tim humored me and we made a little treat for the party.

A cupcake bun, brownie hamburger patties, with frosting- orange (cheese) and green (lettuce). Put them all together and what do you get? Mini hamburger sliders!

Almost bite-sized and so delicious, if I do say so myself. But with that much sugar, how can you go wrong?
The only problem is the choice of frosting colors do not make very appetizing leftover cupcakes.
"I decorated them all myself," Tim said.

I will not be fighting him for any of that recognition. Eeew.

All in a Day's Work

Just another typical day...

snowshoeing with coworkers on our lunch break...

having snowball fights and building a snowman...

sledding on an intertube and a yoga mat while wearing running shoes and two right-hand gloves...

more snowmen...

go to bed and get ready to start it all over again in the morning!

We got about 8 inches of snow since last night. People keep warning me how hot and humid it is in Texas, but so far, I'm just not seeing it!

Weekend fun

It has been an awesome couple of weeks, especially the weekend parts. Last weekend we drove down to San Antonio to see Cole, one of Ben and Lisa's boys be baptized. We were so excited to be able to just go for a quick trip...I think that is one huge perk of living here in Dallas. Unfortunately I didn't bring the camera so I have no photos to upload...I left my camera there the last visit and didn't want to repeat that.

Then this weekend we had another baptism. Tim (and now my) niece Alyssa K Howe, otherwise known as Ally, was baptized yesterday. She is a pretty awesome little chick and probably my most faithful blog reader, so this blog is dedicated to you, Ally.

Ally is hilarious, also very stylin' as you can see from the picture. Those are my glasses but she pulls them off way better than I do :) She was trying to walk down the sidewalk and said that "these glasses make me feel short" because of the distortion. I think we've also finally cleared up the confusion that Ally's 19 year old aunt Elizabeth is not mine and Tim's daughter. Hehe! Ally put on a Hannah Montana concert for us on New Year's that will never be forgotten! She likes to jam out on her new iPod Nano to, of course, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgins, and the Chickmunks...and she especially likes to leave out the headphones so we all get to enjoy her tunes :)

Liz flew out from Provo for the baptism, which was really cool. We packed as much as we could into our time while she was here. We went to a Mavs game on Friday. I was so excited when I moved to Seattle to have a pro basketball team in my city, even if they weren't that good. The the summer before I got there the Sonics were sold and moved so this is my first chance at that.

They give you these cardboard signs to crinkle-fold into a fan so you can slap them on your hand or knee as a noise-maker to cheer. They say you're not a true fan unless its split in two by the end of the game. Liz did it! I guess she's a superfan! And my eardrums are still telling me that's true!
